So…

I was watching one of the 895,000,000 “Loki’s coming back” theory videos on Youtube earlier, and it claimed that Mark Ruffalo spoiled Avengers 4 (I know, when has Mark ever spoiled a movie? Hahaha) by doing an interview in which he’s asked about some of his favourite actors he’s worked with and he mentioned both Cate Blanchett (Hela) and Tilda Swinton (the Ancient One in Dr. Strange). The host believed that was indicating that he’d worked with them both recently and therefore they’re both going to be resurrected somehow.

Which seems like a bit of a stretch to me. BUT, the video also pointed to Thor’s vision in Age of Ultron, wherein Heimdall tells Thor, “I see you leading us to Hel” or something to that effect. And that did pique my interest.

What if Heimdall wasn’t just speaking metaphorically? This theory goes that Thor and Valkyrie are going to literally go into Hel and make some sort of deal to get Loki (and maybe the other Asgardians?) back. It would make sense, as vague lines in previous Marvel movies almost always wind up being way more meaningful than we realised at the time. And of course, there’s also comic book precedent for it, as it’s pretty much what Loki did himself and how we arrived at Kid Loki and Agent of Asgard.

Soooo… TL;DR this is something I’m going to be obsessing over and picking apart for the next week, probably. I really need a social life, don’t I?
