My Oh My

Under that light rain, gleaming in that night game
Can’t stop now, keep moving, no brake pads
Came here to prove a point, live my life on the field
Make history in between the base paths
And compete against the fear that is in me
That’s my only barrier and I swear that I’m going to break that
From the mud, the cleats that we drug through the feet
This is that moment, and you cannot take it back
I don’t really collect cards anymore
Just a box and some old cardboard
Memories embedded in the dust
In the fibres that age just like us
Living somewhere off in a drawer
This is what you make of it
Yeah, we play to win
Live it like we’re under the lights of the stadium
Fight, until the day that God decides to wave us in

The Mariners beat the Angels 4-1 on Game 162 with big RBI’s from the Condor, but fail to make the tiebreaker game for the 2nd WC spot due to an Athletics win.

Final record: 87-75. Compared to last year’s 71-91 record – such an improvement. Be proud of this season and what we accomplished rather than what we didn’t accomplish! 162 meaningful (and fun) games is quite an achievement.

Here are the options for the Mariners:

In order to force a play-in game for the Wild Card:

  • M’s must sweep the Angels and have the A’s go 1-2 against Texas (they lost last night, so far they are 0-1)
  • M’s must go 2-1 against the Angels and have the A’s go 0-3 (Again, they are already 0-1)
  • M’s must sweep the Angels and have the Royals go 0-3 against the White Sox

In order to win the 2nd WC:

  • The M’s must sweep the Angels and have the A’s go 0-3 vs. Texas

We’re not out of it yet. No, our chances aren’t great, but we’ve got a chance. Go M’s.
