I noticed the Ragnarok promo interviews were the only ones that didn’t involve Tom talking much about his inspiration for Loki’s character. And this is someone who puts serious though into their work, who probably spends weeks preparing for a role by confining himself to a small space and meditating on it until he becomes certain he IS that person.
And then you give him dialogue that sounds like it was written by Adam Sandler.
Do all of you noticed how unenthusiastic Tom Hiddleston was when he was talking about “how Loki spent his 4 years as a king into <narcissistic self-glorification>”? For me, he’s honestly looks like someone who’s forced to made statement about something he disagree with/ that he dislike, not that I blamed him because I’m very sure he’s well aware that his character’s been twisted into this paper-thin pathetic one-dimensional character aka the dead of previous good characterizations.
I don’t understand why people hate Ragnarok Loki and just Ragnarok in general and Taika so much. Like it makes no sense to me

Ragnarok!Loki is the perfect representation of what one-dimensional predictable simple and laughable characterization looks like.
And especially since it’s supposedly to be the final continuation of a three-dimensional multi-layered complex character, of course we should expect better, right? But no, they had to destroyed him completely in the last hour of the trilogy.

Thank you for not to having succumbed at the boring “superhero movie” stereotypes, and make a movie full of multiple interpretations. Full of shades to catch and understand.

This is wonderful. I wish both Kenneth and Tom could read some of the in-depth analyses, admiration and respect for the greatness they created in Loki. They may even be surprised learning to what extent he blossomed. Tom in particular. He knows he did good. He’s confident in his talent, dedicated to his work and loved Loki, I believe as a somewhat of a friend. Yet I don’t think he really, truly knows, on what levels Loki touched people, the amount of people or how relating to the character, enhanced lives through friendships, that otherwise, never would’ve occurred. I often wonder if learning that and how important its been to so many, would help him understand, we loved Loki too.
Tom has said so many times how surprised he’s been from the beginning that Loki is so popular with fans. And since he’s also said that he tries not to read things about himself online, I’d imagine his perception of Loki’s popularity is just based on things like the reaction at SDCC 2013 and other public events.
Being the highly intellectual guy that he is, I really do wonder what he would think of all the detailed meta some fans have written about Loki. I like to imagine he would be deeply honoured knowing that we’ve put as much thought into who Loki is as he has. 💚

They did because these make Loki lesser devil and enjoyable than the plain villan Marvel wanted.
It’s like censoring a person’s life. These events actually occurred, they were lived (by Loki— Tom), ALL OF THE ABOVE still coincide perfectly within the canon, but were deleted to decrease sympathy. ARGHH!

Please all the gods in every universe, let them give us directors cuts of every thor/avengers movie so we can enjoy the full Loki experience.
I legitimately can’t watch these movies without watching the deleted scenes first, because they provide so fucking much necessary context for Loki’s character and his actions and it’s absolutely insane that they were cut out of the movie. Especially the deleted scenes from Thor (2011).

Hey, listen. At SDCC 2013, Loki said if we’d pledge loyalty to him, he would give us what we need.
My list of do-not-want themes for a Loki series far surpasses my list of yes-please themes. All mentioned ideas I’ve seen floating around this website already, and isn’t that a scary thought.
1. Any prequel of any kind with a presently dead Loki.
2. No comedies / sitcoms, and specifically nothing with Sakaar or Grandmaster in it.
3. No mockumentaries about the making of The Tragedy of Loki of Asgard.
4. No Agent of Asgard live action remake with Loki serving Thor (instead of the Mother Triumvirate) to erase his sins.
5. No Loki and Sif /Valkyrie adventures.
6. No Old!Loki vs Kid!Loki plot.
Would watch ideas would include:
1. Loki’s time with Thanos / void / as Odin IF it gives him depth beyond a lunatic or a trickster and IF he somehow survives IW.
2. Independent adventure set after IW, maybe something about New Asgard being rebuilt / hunting for necessary old relics.

Really anything that implies autonomy for Loki’s character would be welcome. Nothing centered around him earning someone else’s love/trust/respect. Nothing centered around how he is distrusted. Nothing centered around any characterization from Ragnarok.
I’ve been thinking about this for a couple days, and I keep going back and forth on whether I’d want it or not. But I was thinking possibly a series dealing with Loki going to Jötunheim to claim his throne.

Loki confronting his past and learning to accept himself
Fixing the dumpster fire that is Taika Waititi’s vision of Loki as a leader
Getting to explore more of Jötunheim

I’m a petty bitch and don’t want Odin to get what he wanted all along?
Relatively minor, maybe, but I don’t want to reinforce Odin’s false notion that everything Loki’s done has been about wanting a throne.
