uh no thanks

Oh good, I was hoping they’d continue to legitimize the overpopulation myth and force a character solidly in the abuser category into the victim category in the dumbest ways possible.

Well it’s about damn time! Better put this book on my Christmas list because if there’s one thing there could never be enough of it’s…

At Ace comic con they gave us a Thanos comic. I didn’t even look at it. I mean, who exactly wants more Thanos?! I don’t think you could write a movie any better to make your audience hate a particular character! 🤨

To Marvel: Not all characters have to be liked. Some examples of hugely successful entertainment featuring disliked characters include:

  • Game of Thrones
  • Harry Potter
  • Star Wars
  • Most action/war movies/books/shows

Make us hate Thanos even more so we pay to go see him die. Make us hate him so much we start liking even the blandest heroes just because they’re fighting for the cause. NOT. ALL. VILLAINS. HAVE. TO. BE. SYMPATHETIC.

Exactly!

So this happened outside my workplace back in 2014 to promote the upcoming Game of Thrones season. This is a fantastic use of people’s hate for a character! We loved to hate Joffrey!

Now Marvel, let me bring down Thanos!

XKCD’s excellent presentation on historical global temperature and anthropogenic global warming.Ā

[After setting your car on fire]Ā ā€œListen, your car’s temperature has changed before.ā€

For the ā€œEarth’s climate has changed beforeā€ crowd.

damn the Industrial Revolution lmfao

homeless people are part of your community!!!!! get with it!!!!!!!!!!!!! they’re not outside interlopers they’re not invaders they’re not vermin. homeless people = people deprived of homes, they are Victims and you should be angry on their behalf because people are being deprived of shelter in Your Community

no one deserves homelessness and no one brought it on themself, not even alcoholics and drug addicts and unmedicated/uncooperative/ā€œunreasonableā€ mentally ill people

if a person does not have access to appropriate shelter and is forced to either try to find a homeless shelter that isn’t full to capacity AND won’t abuse them/put them in danger, or live and sleep in public areas (which is literally criminalized like….. everywhere)

they have been purposely deprived. basic human needs are being used against them, the necessities for human life are being withheld from them and they don’t deserve that. if u have been or are currently homeless, you didn’t and don’t deserve that

Friendly reminder that it would actually be more cost-effective to taxpayers to give a modest apartment to every homeless person in the United States than it is to leave them on the streets.

So housing the homeless is not only the morally correct thing to do; it’s also the economically correct thing to do.

And the only reason we don’t do it is because we’ve been indoctrinated to believe that if you can’t purchase your dignity, you don’t deserve to have any.

Tom Hiddleston in ā€˜The Avengers’, (2012). Dir. Joss Whedon.

That first gif!! One of my favorite Loki moments.

#i cant believe that this was anything other than a genuine moment of doubt and clarityĀ #and a desire to do exactly what thor is saying stop this and go homeĀ (via @bereft-of-frogs)

YEEEESSSSS excellent tag commentary, I feel that up until that point Loki was so caught up in playing the part he’d been given, knowing it was probably futile but not having any other options but to keep going forward, but in this moment he realizes that this is all real, that however inferior he might think humans are, he would not have normally wanted to subjugate them or hurt them, and that he is hurting them. I think this is the tiniest flare of remorse, before he snuffs it out, because it’s them or him.

…. This ā€˜funny’ trend that Loki stabs absolutely everyone is getting out of hand and more than a trifle absurd.

He stabs you if you’re an enemy, or if you have made yourself one, or if he is compelled to.

He doesn’t just go around drawing blood for funsies. Even if that person is Thor.

There’s literally no canon basis to assume Loki stabs everything that moves.

I think it’s like when Avengers came out and Banner stated that Loki’s mind wasĀ ā€œa bagful of catsā€, and it sparked all kinds of memes galore and started ā€œLokittyā€, I guess. It’s cutesy, and alot of people love cutesy. And some will just latch on to anything and run with it like a pair of scissors.

Hey, remember how when the Red Skull held the Tesseract directly in his bare hand, he, like, disintegrated or got sucked into space or something, the implication being that the Tesseract was just too powerful to be held in one’s hands?Ā

Remember how when Loki held the Tesseract directly in his bare hand, he might as well have been holding a roll of toilet paper, for all the damage it did him?

I just think about that sometimes.Ā
